GRATEFUL DEAD COLLECTION
Three packs, three vibes. Dead Heads rejoice!
The Grateful Dead Collection fuses the sound of the 1960s global cultural movement and the grooves of a new generation. Launching in store on May 30, and online on June 3rd, this limited edition collection arrives right as Dead & Company kick off their summer tour.
Smart in every approach, from stealthy layered pocketing for easy navigating while digging in your bag, to convenient daisy chains, and ingenious add-ons such as openings for your hydration pack, this bag offers more than the average carrying option. Decked out in its kaleidoscope print, the bag also serves as a serious magnet to attract every Dead Head at the show.
Transitioning seamlessly from a large tote to a backpack with stow-away straps, the Tote Rucksack is basically two bags in one. As a bonus, the internal padded laptop sleeve fits a 15” laptop and external compression straps keep things tight for making your way through the crowded grounds. There’s plenty of pocketing thanks to a Napoleon pocket for keys and a neoprene internal organization to keep all festival goodies on lock.
The Launch keeps all carrying needs in mind thanks to its lightweight and durable reflective nylon fabric that sports a contemporary crinkle texture. The bag has adjustable shoulder straps, accessorized with clippable daisy chains and a laptop pocket with side zipper access to fit a 13” laptop.
“Grateful Dead is the epitome of the culture clash gone right", says Andrea Chynoweth, Timbuk2's Global Creative Director, and resident Dead Head, "Fusing rock, folk, country, bluegrass, blues, gospel, jazz, reggae, psychedelic and space rock, the Bay Area group was the sound of a global movement in the sixties. Not only have the Dead stayed relevant over the past 50 years, but have continued to grow and attract a younger audience of audiophiles and style junkies, whom we believe this collection will speak to.”
